The City of Midland approved a new commercial parking ordinance starting October 1, in an effort to crack down on commercial trucks parking on private property.
In August, NewsWest 9 went on tour with Councilman J Ross Lacey and found several big rigs parked on private property, ignoring signs posting not to park.
Under the new ordinance parking on some public streets and business parking lots will be illegal.
If drivers are caught, they face a $500 fine.
