MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - The Rebels started their season off with a big win on the road against a team ranked highly in the preseason. On Friday night they lost to Abilene High.
They found themselves in a fourth quarter battle, but came just short. Head Coach Clint Hartman says that their confidence is not shaken, and there were plenty of good moments in that game to prove they are on the right track.
"You know the girt I mean whenever you're in a white knuckled fourth quarter situation like that and you find a way to execute an onside kick and then score touchdowns when you haven't played well all night shows that they're never gonna quit on you. That's a good thing and then also the mistakes that we made are learning opportunities so we gotta teach our kids in that situation," said Coach Hartman.
Coach Hartman also said that their wide receiver, Loic Fouonji set program records on Friday night in receptions with 11 and receiving yards with 211.
