ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Odessa High defeated Lubbock Monterey on Thursday night to repeat history.
Last year, the Bronchos' victory over Monterey was thanks to a last second turnover that led to an OHS touchdown.
This year, the win wasn't in shocking fashion.
Coach Servance said his returning players showed maturity which made a difference.
"I think you expect for those guys to come in and play well. Josh Lara did a great job running the football. We talked about how in order for us to have a good football team, our offensive and defensive lines have to play well and they both did in the ballgame," said Danny Servance, Odessa High's head football coach.
The Bronchos will take on a team from Buckeye, Arizona on Friday night at Ratliff stadium.
