TxDOT asking for submissions for new 'Don't mess with Texas' campaign

TEXAS (KWES) - TxDOT is looking for a new song for its "Don't mess with Texas" campaign.

Previous musicians to partner with TxDOT include Willie Nelson, Grupo Fantasma, Stevie Ray Vaughan, LeAnn Rimes and George Strait. This year however the organization is calling for a new amateur music talent to get the chance to present the campaign.

Any Texan resident age 18 and up can submit an original song that incorporates the campaign's anti-litter message.

An English and a Spanish winner will be selected through a public voting period.
