MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - On Friday, Midland Lee will be hitting the road to take on a team that is ranked fourteenth in the state in a preseason poll.
They will be playing Smithson Valley.
The Rebels were the final 6-A Basin team standing last year, making it to the regional round of the playoffs.
Coach Hartman said the success has changed the overall feeling heading into the playoffs.
"I think the difference at Lee High School is we knew some team was gonna do it and we knew there was pressure last year not to have the same start as we had our career here. Now the pressure is to make sure we're not a one hit wonder. Pressure is good. Pressure busts pipes but pressure also pushes water through the pipes. I think they have confidence and they have the full support in me because I believe we're gonna be a good football team," said Hartman.
