ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The City of Odessa has received its sales tax revenue check for the month of July.
The amount for this check totaled $5,850,554.77.
Out of this total, the city will receive $4,680,443.82 in funds. The other $1,170,110.95 will go to the Odessa Development Corporation.

Compared to July 2017 numbers, Odessa received an increase in revenue of $1,400,886.60 or 43.72 percent.
The year-to-date sales tax revenue for 2017-2018 is 68.15 percent more than expected for the year. It is also 47.63 percent above the year-to-date amount of the previous year's revenue.
July's sales tax revenue was generated from May sales as revenue comes from two months prior.
