ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) - The Education Partnership Leadership Team in Odessa held its sixth meeting for 2018 Tuesday.

Made up of city leaders from different areas, such as education, business, and non-profit and religious communities, they spoke about educational issues and challenges facing the community from birth to college to work.

The group also talked about the STAAR test results that were recently released.

"While they're important, the state says they're important, they don't tell the whole story. If you look at the successes our kids have, beyond those tests its unbelievable," said Tom Crowe, ECISD Superintendent.

Crowe also says that the reason for the higher test scores is due to more community involvement in the area.
