Do you hear Yanny or Laurel?

"The big debate right now, is it Yanny or is it Laurel? And, if you ask anybody they are going to have a strong opinion about one or the other," said Dr. Jeana Stone, Belton Hearing Aids.

There is a difference between what you hear, and why you hear it.

"Depending on where you put your focus on sounds whether you focus more on low pitches or high pitches you're going to hear one or the other."

If you hear Laurel, you are hearing lower notes.

"A little hearing impaired or have some high-frequency loss than your focuses is more towards those low frequencies and you're more likely to hear Laurel," said Stone.

But, if you hear Yanny, that’s all the higher notes.

"Normal hearing, you can hear all those high pitches or even a lot of musicians who are really entuned to those different sounds will hear Yanny," said Stone.

But, you have some closure to know what the original recording said.

"I believe, the original recording was actually Laurel," said Stone.
