Update: First Alert Weather Day issued for West Texas

WEST TEXAS (KWES) - Today is a First Alert Weather Day for West Texas. Isolated strong to severe storms will be possible across the viewing area Monday.

Some storms could bring over quarter size hail and 60+ mph wind gusts.

The greatest chance of severe weather will be in our eastern counties where the most instability is. We should see storms diminish in the later part of the evening as temperatures cool down. Stay with the First Alert Weather Team for all the latest.

Photo Legend:

  • Light green: Non-severe storms
  • Dark Green: Marginally severe storms (1" hail and 60 mph winds)
  • Yellow: Slight risk of severe storms (up to 2" hail and up to 70 mph winds)
