ODESSA, TX (KWES) - George H.W. Bush New Tech Odessa held a dance and awards ceremony for special needs classes on May 11, and the girls were given a little extra pampering before the ceremony.

"It's a special day because we are doing an awards ceremony and a dance for our Special Ed.," Risa Craig, Permian High School teacher, said. "(It's) for our Permian kids, our New Tech kids and OHS."

The girls were able to feel like princesses with a glam squad ready to make the final touches.

"First, they made all the boys get out and then we got our hair done," Macy Hill, Special Ed. student, said. "I first got my hair done and then I got my nails done, I liked that. There's not many days I get to just be around women."

Although she said there aren't many girls in her class, Hill said the boys come in handy when they need to lift heavy things.

"(They) do pickup something heavy, their size is always there to help me," said Hill.

Though, on the night of May 11, the students got the chance to be as beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside.

"These kids don't always get to experience what the Regular Ed. kids get to experience," Craig said.
