Permian softball looking to make program history

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The Permian softball team is headed to the Regional Quarterfinals. Two years ago the Lady Panthers made it this far and lost. So now this team is hungry and eager to continue their run in the post season. In fact this Permian squad is chasing history as they could be the first team in program history to make it past the quarterfinals.

"We can do really good and go really far with the team we have. It'll be really exciting because we would make history and I would love to be apart of that," said Hannah Banker.

"We all believe in each other and we really do share a special bond that we really do have. It's been a really really good run and we're just leaving it all on the field," said Kameron Martinez.

"We're working hard in practice everyday we really do want it," said Alexis Morales.

Permian will take on Abilene High in a three game series. Game one is Friday at 5 p.m. in Coahoma. Game two is Saturday at 1 p.m. and if necessary, game three will be 30 minutes after game two.
