ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Odessa Police recruits got a chance to practice what they learned on May 9.
Over the last few days, recruits have studied how to approach and handle a crime scene, but they got a chance to experience it for real.
"This morning we had a suspect that got shot or stabbed, so we had to take pictures of the whole entire crime scene," said Ben Wollet, OPD recruit.
"We came in, we put markers by the evidence, and we started swabbing and then dusting for fingerprints and stuff like that."
Wollet says he is ready to get out on the streets and work, and looks forward to working DWI cases.
