MIDLAND-ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Local cyclists are coming together in an effort to get a bicycle corridor between Midland and Odessa.
The Permian Basin Bicycle Association is working with the Permian Basin Metropolitan Planning Organization to get the corridor.
The MPO approved the conduction of a corridor study a few months ago. The study will cost $42,000, but the MPO is working in several phases.
The cyclist community is hoping to raise funds in the private sector to fund these efforts. They also met with three different firms on May 9 to determine which consultant will move them forward with the study.
