Suspect arrested in hit -and-run investigation

Justin Lee Rodriguez, 22, has been charged with two counts of Fail to Stop and Render Aid "3rd Degree Felony". An ongoing investigation and a Crime Stopper's tip resulted in the suspect being identified. Rodriguez also reportedly had injuries consistent with being involved in a crash.

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - UPDATE: 5/23 3:22 p.m.

Odessa Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the hit-and-run from May 6.

Justin Lee Rodriguez, 22, has been charged with two counts of Fail to Stop and Render Aid "3rd Degree Felony".

An ongoing investigation and a Crime Stopper's tip resulted in the suspect being identified. Rodriguez also reportedly had injuries consistent with being involved in a crash.

The OPD Traffic Unit obtained two warrants for Rodriguez. He was placed into custody early Wednesday morning and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.

The investigation is still ongoing.

A hit-and-run incident has left an Odessa man in serious condition.

Odessa Police and Odessa Fire Rescue responded to a crash on University and Ventura just after midnight on Sunday, May 6.

Investigators say Sergio Ojeda, 24, was traveling eastbound in the 1900 block of West University in Odessa in a white 2012 Dodge Ram. A white 2007 Ford Expedition traveling westbound in the wrong lane reportedly struck the Dodge Ram. The driver fled the scene after failing to stop and render aid.

Marquez was taken to Medical Center Hospital with serious bodily injury. Another Odessa man, 19, was a front passenger in the vehicle as well, but has reportedly sustained no serious injuries.
