ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The Permian Softball team finished up their regular season with an amazing 27-1 record. This past weekend they won a Bi-District title and will advance to the second round of the playoffs, and these Panthers feel that their time on the field this season isn't coming to a close anytime soon.
"I mean I feel like this team doesn't think that we're ready for it but I don't think they are ready for us. We're ready for any team that comes our way," said Brianna Dominguez, Permian Softball Senior.
The Panthers will face Timber Creek at Abilene Christian University on Thursday to compete for an Area title, and with the momentum MOJO has, they have every right to believe they'll be moving on. Permian softball took the district title and only had one loss on their record heading into the playoffs.
The three seniors on the team believe its the bond amongst them that has set them apart this season.
"I know on the field it seems like we're so serious but this is the goofiest team that you'll ever be apart of I mean it's just an honor to be apart of this team," said Dominguez.
"We're the goofiest team we come together as a family and we get along really really well," said Kameron Martinez, Permian softball senior.
"The girls definitely they're like family, they're like sisters its a family thing," said Alexis Morales, Permian softball senior.
All three seniors will be playing college softball but they hope to take this high school run as far as possible.
"I mean me and my friends always talked about it freshman year. that were gonna graduate and go play college ball together and I have the honor to do it with my best friend but now that it's coming its sad so I mean I'm just gonna keep on trying to play as much as I can with this team so it doesn't come to an end and try and make it to state with them," said Dominguez.
