VAN HORN, TX (KWES) - New Shepard is going on its eighth flight into space out of the Blue Origin launch pad in West Texas.
The rocket launched out of Van Horn just before noon.
The original launch time of 8:30 a.m. was rescheduled due to thunderstorms in the area to 10:15 a.m. before being delayed a second time.
This was the first flight New Shepard made in 2018.
The rocket is fully reusable with vertical takeoff and vertical landing. The pressurized capsule separates from the booster and coasts in space while the booster free falls then lands vertically through autonomous control, according to the company.
