Round two of the NHL playoffs are underway and there is a familiar West Texas face standing in goal for the Winnipeg Jets. Connor Hellebuyck was an Odessa Jackalope back in 2012 and is now making a run for the Stanley Cup.
Earlier this month, Hellebuyck picked up his 44th win setting an NHL record for most wins in a season by an American goaltender.
The Jets beat the Minnesota Wild in the first round of the playoffs. This was their first playoff win and series win in the modern Winnipeg Jets history.
During that series Hellebuyck had back to back playoff shutouts. The Jets are taking on the Nashville Predators in the second round.
