2 bicyclists killed in auto-pedestrian accident on Hwy 158 in Midland

MIDLAND COUNTY, TX (KWES) -

DPS confirms two bicyclists were killed in an auto-pedestrian accident on Hwy. 158 in Midland County on Wednesday night.Officials say it happened at 8:22 p.m. near CR 1250.

Camron Stotts, 42, of Midland and Michael D. Mestas, 47, of Odessa were pronounced dead at the scene after an Eagle Pass man, identified as Ricardo Madera, was driving while intoxicated and struck the bicyclists. 

A third bicyclist, Thomas Haislip, was taken to the hospital with incapacitating injuries. 

The driver of the vehicle is being charged with intoxication manslaughter, intoxication assault and fleeing the scene of a crash. 

Madera is being held on several bonds, all totaling $275,000.
