ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The Permian girls and boys gymnastics teams will be returning to the state meet. Last year, the boys placed fifth and the girls took seventh. After hosting regionals they've been preparing for the big stage and are feeling ready heading into the weekend.
"I feel like we're really confident in each other and we know that we can do it because we do it every day in the gym, so it's just the same routines," said Bridgett Pando, Permian gymnast.
"We're just trying to keep up with those top-tier teams. It's just all a mindset we just have to have that confidence built up," said Brandon Dominguez, Permian gymnast.
The Permian teams will hit the road tomorrow and start to compete on Friday in Rockwall. The 2018 Texas High School State Championships will run through Saturday.
