MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - Colonel Eileen Collins visited Midland's Museum of the Southwest this weekend for an astronomy day celebration.

She was selected by NASA in 1990 after serving in the Air Force as a pilot.

Collins led 4 space flights between 1995 and 2005.

She also shared anecdotes about her space exploration, and encouraged young people to go after their dreams.

"There are no limits today on what you can do or what you want do so take a deep breath, look around, try some different things and eventually you'll find something you enjoy doing," says Collins.

Collins says she knew she wanted to be an astronaut since the fourth grade.
