SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - A Republican New Mexico state lawmaker and congressional candidate is in compliance with state financial disclosure requirements after amending forms to show her company received money from contracts with state agencies.
The New Mexico Secretary of State's Office said Friday that Rep. Yvette Herrell has fulfilled financial disclosure requirements as an elected state official.
Herrell is a partner in the company Herrell Properties. The Alamogordo legislator amended forms this week to show the company earned more than $5,000 from goods or services provided to state agencies.
Since 2013, Herrell Properties took in $440,000 by renting property to the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department and New Mexico Environment Department.
Herrell says the Secretary of State's Office never brought up any irregularities about her disclosures since becoming a lawmaker in 2011.
