PERMIAN BASIN, TX (KWES) - Guardians of the Children is hosting a fundraiser over the weekend as a way to celebrate their 10-year anniversary while continuing to support their mission.

The Child Abuse Advocacy Awareness Motorcycle Group is a backbone for abused children, not only do they go to court with them, they also take them to therapy sessions and are with them every time they face their abuser.

The group serves 32 kids in West Texas, Shylla Turner is one of the members who make sure the children are not alone. She said the group is a big family.

"We're now gonna be part of your family," Turner said, "you're part of our family.

Members are there to help children any time and go above and beyond to make them feel comfortable.

"Anytime you're in trouble, call us. You're scared, call us," Turner said. "We'll be there to help you, we give them a certificate with their cut and their road name on it and a teddy bear full of hugs."

The fundraiser will start Saturday at 4 p.m. at Dos Amigos in Odessa. Proceeds will give children the birthday, back to school and Christmas events they deserved.
