Jackalopes recognize graduating members

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The Odessa Jackalopes are getting ready to hit the road for the first round of the NAHL South Divisional pPlayoffs. Tonight they hosted a send-off at the Ector County Collesium. They recognized their twenty-year-olds who are in their last year of junior hockey.

"Its kind of like our 20-year-old recognition. I mean we didn't do an awards banquet this year especially going into playoffs, and so you have ten guys graduating. So their gift is taking home their jersey. Its kind of an appreciation," said Greg Gatto, Jackalopes Coach.

"You know its cool and it's sad at the same time because we've had so much fun and we have such a good group of guys. You know a couple months down the road you're gonna be driving home and you may not see all these guys ever again, but right now we're just trying to enjoy it and be with each other as much as possible," said Brett Epp, Odessa Jackalopes Goaltender.

"It's nice to have that jersey just to bring home to remember the players you played with the coaches just everything that we've been through here in Odessa," said Rune Kirby, Odessa Jackalopes Captain.
