ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The Wyland National Mayor challenge Campaign is asking cities nationwide to join together and work towards energy conservation.

"They teamed up with all the nation's mayors to get people excited because in reality, you can't have a city if you don't have water," Konrad Hildebrandt with the City of Odessa said.

If you want to sign up and take the pledge, click here.

The questions are simple, like taking a shorter shower and turning off the lights on your porch.  Then your results will show how much water you could save.

"Instead of Spraying off a porch, they can sweep off a porch. When it rains at night they can turn off their sprinklers," Hildebrandt said.

Hildebrandt also said that saving energy could also save you money on your energy bill.

The pledge will last from April 1 until April 30.
