BIG SPRING, TX (KWES) - A pipeline truck caught fire after crashing into another big rig truck in Big Spring on Monday.

A witness to the crash described it as the worst accident he has ever seen.

This happened at the intersection of highway 350 and Old Colorado road.

"The one in flames was the pipe truck it was tore in all pieces he lost his load and everything," said Troy Riddle, witness.

Riddles said he and a few other people in the neighborhood called 9-1-1 and got there before highway patrol.

A group of people in the neighborhood tried to find the driver and help him, but the flames were so high it was hard to find him.

"Couldn't get to it, because all the tires were on fire, diesel was on fire and everything was on fire if the cab, the roof, the sleeper was thrown plumb off the truck and if it was burning," said Riddles.

Officials with the Department of Public Safety told us that a driver died in the crash, but no other information has been released at this time.

"I feel sorry for the driver, I don't know it's just a mess," said Riddles.
