ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The Odessa High girls soccer team advanced to the area round of postseason play. This is a familiar place for the Lady Bronchos as they made it this far last year, but came up short ending their season earlier than they wanted.

This year OHS is determined to keep their momentum going and make their mark on the school that no other girls soccer team has done.

"To make history. To know that we can go farther than what other teams have done before," said senior captain Ashley Vengas.

"It'll be iconic for me and my team because I know what we can do. I'm sure we can do it," said junior captain Malarie Ramirez.

"Coming off losing area last year it gives us some motivation to work harder this year and we know what to expect. To go out there with the mindset that we can do it and we're capable of winning and get it back from last year," said senior Taylie Jones.

The Lady Bronchos will face Keller Central tomorrow at 5 pm in Abilene.
