ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Odessa Fire Rescue and Safe Riders offered a free child passenger safety seat check to ensure your child's safety.
The inspections were held at Central Fire Station from 1 and 4 p.m., Thursday, March 29.
A nationally certified technician determined the seats are safe and being used correctly.
"We recommend that you read the instructions on your child safety seat and if you do get a brand new seat you can bring it to our dept. we have six people who are certified technicians that are able to look at that car seat to tell you whether or not it's be installed correctly and then we can show you how to install it so this way you feel comfortable that when you go home and you have to change vehicles or you purchase a new vehicle that you're comfortable putting it into the car yourself," said Yolanda Medrano, assistant fire marshall.
If you missed the child safety seat check, don't worry.
You can still set up an appointment with the station to get your child seat checked by calling (432) 257-0502.
