MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - With only four seniors on the roster, the Lady Dawgs are a young group but they feel that as long as they stick together and play as a team they're capable of quite a bit.

"A lot if we all work together we can go far and I believe that, but we have to get on the same page. We have to wanna work hard every day," said Kylie VonHolle, MHS Senior captain.

Their head coach Cooper Barham has told them not to pay attention to state rankings because all that matters is the game you show up with on gameday.

"He's always told us you don't have to be the best team in the state you just have to be the best team that day. So I believe that's true you don't always have to be the best team if you're the best team that day then that's all the matters," said Alexis Ramos, MHS Sophomore captain.

But if you wanted to talk numbers, depending on the outcome of their last home game the lady dawgs could clinch a number two playoff seed and as they advance into the postseason the Midland High mindset is set.

"Our focus is one game at a time. Keep working on what we've built on in the past and just take everything one step at a time and see where it leads us," said VonHolle.
