FORT DAVIS, TX (KWES) -

A man is behind bars after his wife, a Marfa teacher, was found stabbed to death in her home.

On March 16, Marfa dispatch toned out Fort Davis EMS to an unconscious woman at 424 Granado Street in Fort Davis.

Authorities made contact with Daniel Merrill Sullivan, 30, who said he found his wife on the floor and that she had been murdered.

The woman was identified as Sophia Eleanor Sullivan, 31, was in fact found with multiple stab wounds on her arms, side and back.

We're told the woman's 7-year-old told neighbors his father had killed his mother.

After taking blood samples, police found that the swabs tested positive, indicating Daniel did have blood on his hands.

Daniel also agreed to take a polygraph test on Monday, which he failed.

He is now being charged with the murder of his wife.  He is on a $130,000 bond.
