ODESSA, TX (KWES) - West Texas Food Bank is excited to announce partnership with Sims & Guess Realtors of Odessa for donations.

Realtors from Sims & Guess said from March 1st- April 30th they will be donating $20 to the food bank for every house sold.

"With the price of oil shooting back up, and the influx of new residents to the Permian Basin, we could not be more excited to partner with Sims & Guess who is finding homes for all these people. The donation for every home sold will serve as a reminder to all those finding themselves in new homes that there are others less fortunate in our community, and the very act of purchasing a new home will help get our neighbors fed," said Libby Campbell, Executive Director, West Texas Food Bank.

The food bank said they are excited to announce that the presentation of the donation will happen in combination with Stamp Out Hunger, at a food truck rally at the Sims & Guess building at University Boulevard and JBS Parkway.

Also, the food bank said a food drive will be held on Saturday, May 12th.

According to the West Texas Food Bank, Permian Basin residents will receive a brown paper bag in the mail.

We're told residents are invited to fill the bag with nonperishable food to be placed by their mail box.

The food bank said letter carriers will pick up the bags on Saturday, May 12th.

According to the food bank, all food collected will be made available, for free, through the West Texas Food Bank, to over 70 partner agencies in our region.
