ODESSA, TX (KWES) - After winning the Region V tournament this weekend, the Odessa College Lady Wranglers are bound for the NJCAA national tournament, and their mission is as clear as can be.

"To win it, we ring chasing," said Shannon Dozier, Odessa College sophomore.

Head Coach Ara Baten thinks his team is in a good position to make a good run.

"I really like our chances. I think we're in a good place playing good basketball. We gotta work on a couple things, but if we're right when we get started we're dangerous. We'll be good," said Coach Ara Baten.

Although the Lady Wranglers did compete in the national tournament last season, most of this team has yet to play at that level, as the roster is made up of only four returners but their rookies are feeling ready to go.

"I'm a little nervous but I'm excited it's my first big tournament so it's gonna be fun I think we're going to win it all that's what I hope we're going to do our best," said Amanda Soderqvist, Odessa College freshman.

The Lady Wranglers enter the tournament as a 17 seed and they will first take on Harford, a 16 seed, in Lubbock on Monday.
