MIDLAND COUNTY, TX (KWES) - A Midland officer is being investigated after a murder suspect was shot and killed on Sunday night.
Just after 9 p.m. on Sunday night, Midland County Sheriff's Office received a call about an active disturbance between a husband and wife.
Deputies responded to 2201 W CR 137, where they found a woman on a bed. She was not breathing and although they performed CPR, the woman was dead.
She was identified as Dolores Marquez, 46. We're told her husband, Juan Garcia Alvarez, 57, was suspected of her stabbing.
Just before 11 p.m., Alvarez was seen in the back of the house with a gun. Alvarez began firing at officers and the officers fired back, striking him.
Alvarez was pronounced dead.
We're told autopsies were ordered for both bodies and the Texas Rangers were called out to investigate the officer-involved shooting.
