MIDLAND-ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The Midland-Odessa Sockers FC introduced their new head coach earlier today. Luis Rincon is taking over the program after one of its most successful seasons, in which the team took a trip to the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) National Championship.
Rincon said that he understands the bar has been set high and he is excited about the opportunity. He also mentioned that he hopes to focus on strengthening the club's relationship with the community.
"I think the main thing is to go out there face to face. You have to be present. Reach out and invite them to be a part of this, which is great you know not a lot of small cities have the opportunity to be a part of a national championship," said Luis Rincon.
The Sockers will be holding open tryouts on March eleventh. Last year they had a few Permian Basin natives on the team.
