ARLINGTON, TX (KWES) -

The 1A Div. II State Championship game didn't go as the Balmorhea Bears hoped it would, but one thing they can say is that they witnessed history.

K-lani Nava, a senior at Strawn High School, became the first female kicker to score in a U.I.L. state title game.

Nava converted 9 of 10 extra points for her Greyhounds.

“It feels pretty great. I mean I didn't really think about it during the game, this whole game. I didn't really think about the first girl or if I miss, I'm done. I just thought about the kick,” said Nava.
