MIDLAND, TX (KWES) -

A few families in Midland got a little bit bigger on Friday.

Some children were adopted in a very special ceremony.

In celebration of National Adoption Month, 6 children are now part of a forever family.

Adam and Carrie Tungate adopted J'Via.

She's now 16 and a junior in high school.

J'Via says she has been in the foster system a long time.

"I started at the age of 3 and I've been in and out since. It feels really good (to be adopted)," said J'Via.

J'Via not only has a new mom and dad.

She'll get a brother and sister as well.

The Tungate family is also fostering another child.
