The Texas Panhandle Veterans Appreciation Banquet will start at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11.
The banquet will be held at the Borger Elks Lodge.
The banquet is catered by Great Western Dining, Borger Entertainment and Veterans Tokens and Prizes.
The keynote speaker will be Captain Joni Marquez of the U.S. Air Force.
The event is free to all veterans and their guests, and veterans are invited to wear any uniforms, medals or ribbons they have earned.

Our Veterans, Our Stars, Our Heroes - Veterans Day Tribute
The Veterans Day Tribute, presented by the Pampa ISD 4th Grade class, will be held on Nov. 10 at 1:00 p.m.
The tribute will be at the M.K. Brown Civic Center in Pampa.
There will be a reception following the event in the Heritage Room for Veterans and their families.
"Battle Cries of Freedom!" Concert
The Amarillo Master Chorale presents the "Battle Cries of Freedom!" on Saturday, Nov. 11.
The concert begins at 5:00 p.m. at the Polk Street United Methodist Church.
The concert will feature patriotic songs that will take the audience on a historical journey recognizing and celebrating various times in American history.
The chorale will perform pieces including "Battle Hymn of the Republic," "Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor," and the premier performance of Fryml's "Home of the Brave."
The concert is open to the public and advance tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students or $20 for adults and $7 for students at the door.
All veterans will be admitted free of charge.

Aspen Creek Grill Veterans Day Lunch
Aspen Creek Grill is offering a free lunch to veterans and active duty military on Friday, Nov. 10 and Saturday, Nov. 11.
Weinerschitzel Honors U.S. Veterans and Active and Reserve Military
The restaurant wants to honor the bravery and sacrifice of U.S. veterans and those currently serving by offering a free chili dog, small fries and 20 oz. drink on Nov. 11.
All four restaurants in the Amarillo area are participating in the event.
Guests will need to present a valid military ID or wear their military uniform.
There is a limit of one free meal per veteran or military member.
Bubba's 33 Free Lunch
Amarillo's Bubba's 33 invites veterans and active members of the U.S. military to enjoy a free lunch on Saturday, Nov. 11.
All veterans or active members can choose one of six entrees:

The event runs from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

66th Annual German Sausage Festival
The German Sausage Festival will be held on Sunday, Nov. 12 at St. Mary's Parish Hall in Umbarger.
The event begins at 11:00 a.m. and lasts until 3:00 p.m.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for children ages six through 10, and children six and under are free.
Armistice Day at the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum
The Armistice Day was the basis of Veterans Day in the United States. In recognition of the day, the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum is hosting a program on Nov. 11 at 11:00 a.m.
The museum will host a remembrance ceremony conducted by the Volleys for Veterans local chapter. The Red Cross and West Texas A&M University History Department will also be involved helping honor our veterans.
The program includes a roll call, a 21 gun salute and free museum admission for veterans all day with a military ID.
The program will be free to all but doesn't include museum admission.
Free Entrance to Texas State Parks
On Sunday, Nov. 12, day-use entrance fees for all visitors at Texas State Parks will be waived.
Camping and other activity fees still apply.

7th Annual Texas-size Thank You For Serving Our Country
Amarillo's Texas Roadhouse invited veterans and active members of the United States military to enjoy a free lunch on Saturday, Nov. 11.
Guests can choose one of ten entrees, including a six-ounce sirloin and two made-from-scratch sides, plus a choice of any Coca-Cola product, sweet tea or iced tea or coffee during lunch.
Proof of service includes military or VA card or discharge papers.
The lunch takes place from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

10th Annual Amarillo VA Welcome Home Celebration
The Amarillo VA Health Care System will host the 10th Annual Welcome Home Celebration at the Rex Baxter Building on the Tri-State Fairgrounds.
The event takes place on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Guests will enjoy free food from United Supermarkets, music and door prizes donated by the community supporters.
Experts will also be on hand to answer any question a veteran may have about the benefits he or she has earned through their military service.

Zoo Honors Our Veterans!
The Amarillo Zoo will host a special thank you event offering complimentary admission on Nov. 11 for all military personnel, active or retired, and their immediate family.
The event runs from 9:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11.
To receive free admission, visitors must show a military or veteran organization ID, discharge papers or other official military identification. Families of deployed military personnel must show an active duty ID.
