MIDLAND COUNTY, TX (KWES) -

Midland drivers will see more bike lanes out on the road in the future.

As part of a decision by the Texas Transportation Commission, the City of Midland was given more than half a million dollars to make bike lanes and improve sidewalks.

The city plans to build 5-foot wide bike lines on two streets in downtown Midland.

They'll use the rest of the money to pay for small sidewalk changes that make a big difference, like curb ramps, crosswalk markings and signage.
