MIDLAND, TX (KWES) -

Do you have a child headed to college? The Midland Independent School District is helping students fill out applications for federal student aid or FAFSA.

It's for the 2018 and 2019 school year.

They'll be at the Advanced Technology Center, located at 3200 Cuthbert Ave., on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The application process opened on October 1.

According to Nerd Wallet, U.S. high school graduates have passed on more than $2 billion worth of college financial aid help this year.

Most families don't realize a student will qualify for help, unless they apply and some students can qualify for state grants.
