3 arrested in connection with a stolen vehicle, identity theft investigation

ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

Three people are behind bars in connection to a stolen vehicle and identity theft investigation in Odessa.

We’re told police were patrolling the Parkway Inn located at 3071 East Highway 80.

Police said they observed a red 2013 Ford F-150 with Manuel Payne, 21, and Ember Lajuanie, 20, inside the vehicle.

We’re told both Payne and Lajuanie were observed making contact with another male subject, identified as Brian Rodriguez, 35.

Police investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen and was later returned to its owner.

According to police, Rodriguez was in possession of an Id card belonging to someone else and that he had booked multiple hotel rooms using the stolen Id card.

According to authorities, Payne and Lajuanie have been charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

The third suspect, Rodriguez has been charged with fraudulent use or possession of identifying information.  

We’re told all 3 suspects were taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
