Man indicted for drunkenly hitting child at park

TEMPLE, TX (KXXV) -

A man was indicted Wednesday for injury of a child incident that happened on Sept. 16. 

According to the arrest affidavit, Fabian Ramirez had gotten drunk and starting hitting the child at Cedar Ridge Park in Temple.

Police said that the left side of the child's head was swollen and red, and she had scratches on her cheek and lip. The victim was transported to Scott and White McLane's Children Hospital for treatment. 

Several witnesses told police that they saw Ramirez strike the girl several times in the face. Police apprehended the suspect as he tried to leave the area.
