President Trump's portrait unveiled at UTPB

UTPB unveiled their latest portrait of a U.S. president, Donald Trump.

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - President Trump made his way to Odessa…kind of.

A portrait in his likeness was unveiled at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin's John Ben Shepperd Public Leadership Institute.

It continued the tradition of having a portrait of every US president.

"Odessa is the only home that honors the Presidency, that makes us special, that makes us unique and I'm very proud of that," said Representative Brooks Landgraf.

"It's the real Trump with me and him together talking. It's real. Oh my God, I can touch him," said Bo Tan, the artist who created the portrait.

"When I look at the painting and I've gotten to know Donald Trump fairly well, that looks exactly like him. That is a great painting," said Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick.

The school says the portraits of presidents honor the impact they had on American history and culture.

Bo Tan the artist who created the painting is from Lubbock and said it took three months to complete.
