ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The Odessa Police Department is encouraging people to change their porch lights and it's for all the right reasons.
As a form of paying respect to Floyd East Jr, a Texas Tech officer killed on campus, OPD wants to see blue bulbs around the community.
The Odessa Police Department will be sending its Honor Gaurd to East's funeral. Officers with the department will also be wearing mourning bands on their badges to remember and honor his life.
We're told flags in the front of the OPD building will be lowered to half-staff this week.
