MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - A Midland man will be spending the next 70 years behind bars following a shooting that left one woman dead and another man injured in 2014.
Carl Wayne Wiley was sentenced to 50 years for the murder of Latonya Anders and 20 years for aggravated assault.
On June 28, 2014, Wiley shot Andrers and Curtis Stinnett while they were in the front yard of their residence in Midland.
Anders was shot five times, once in the head. Stinnett was shot twice. He suffered serious injuries including losing his eye.
After the shooting, Wiley fled Midland before he was spotted by Border Patrol agents.
He was arrested on June 30, 2014.
