(KWES) - Even in this day and age, cattle rustling still goes on.
A Stanton couple is accused of stealing cows and selling them.
A Bell County grand jury indicted Douglas and Peggy Schaefer on theft of livestock charges.
They turned themselves in to the Martin County Sheriff's Office.
The two are accused of selling more than 100 heads of cattle from the ranch in Salado.
Douglas Schaefer worked as a ranch manager there.
Investigators with the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association say the two pocked the money around $80,000 for themselves.
Both have since bonded out of jail.
