MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - A chance to meet an author whose work stretches generations.
"I got into Goosebumps through my step dad. I just started reading the books because he gave me his collection," said Eli Carlson.
Goosebumps author R.L. Stine's visit to the Tall City was so much more than that. Through the Project Literacy campaign, he wanted to let kids know they have their own story to tell.
"I want to go to the big leagues in baseball," said Carlson.
"Do hair and makeup for celebrities," said Addie Prince.
"Become a meteorologist," said Easton Prince.
The author who penned 130 Goosebumps novels spread that message to the kids at Bowie Fine Arts Academy.
"I love getting out and reaching my readers and talking to them all. It's just the fun part for me," said Stine.
It is a message everyone took to heart.
"He was an inspiration to all kids around the world. I read almost all of his books and I bet a lot of people here have read all of his books," said Carlson.
