MIDLAND-ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

A relatively easy week for health inspectors in Midland and Odessa. There were several restaurants with perfect scores for the week of August 21st through August 25th. However, there was one Odessa restaurant which made our low performer list.

La Bodega Quick Stop at 1201 S. Grant Ave. in Odessa was cited for the following:

- Some food not date marked
- Weren’t using bleach in ware washing
- Some employees not wearing gloves while making burritos
- Food not covered in coolers
- Drinks open in prep area
- Raw pork left out at room temperature
- Coke nozzles need cleaning

This resulted in the health inspector deducting 17 points from La Bodega Quick Stop.

As we mentioned, there were several places with perfect scores for the week. Here’s a look at Odessa’s top performers:

- Jalisco #2 (2212 E. 8th St.)
- Starbucks (4950 E. 42nd St.)
- Oasis Bar & Grill (5200 E. University Blvd.)
- AFC Sushi (4950 E. 42nd St.)
- Bush’s Chicken (2701 Andrews Hwy.)
- Los Alamos Mexican Restaurant (1307 N. Grant Ave.)
- Whitehouse Meat Market (200 E. 52nd St.)
- Chipotle (3814 E. 42nd St.)
- Manuel’s Tortilla & Tamale Factory (1915 E. 2nd St.)
- Norma’s Café (111 E. 5th St.)
- Odeli’s (1349 E. 8th St.)
