ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

The Odessa Police Department has named four officers as Officers of the Month for September 2017.

Sgt. Caleb Lacey, Cpl. Shawn Allafchian, Cpl. Chris Meise and Cpl. Jonathan Campbell were named as officers of the month as they traveled to the Houston area to assist with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

Were told all four officers volunteered for this assignment, despite many unknown factors such as length of deployment, sleeping arrangements, and the nature of the work involved with helping other agencies with the aftermath of a natural disaster.

Were told all four officers kept a great attitude regarding their assignments and showed a level of dedication to the mission at hand for the length of their deployment.

All four officers showed professionalism and compassion towards the citizens and first responders of Houston and the surrounding area.

The Odessa Police Department recognized these officers on behalf of the effort they put forth and representing the Odessa Police Department in a positive manner.
