ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

One man is behind bars on several charges following an incident last Friday in Odessa.

Xavion Fuller, 26, is charged with evading arrest or detention with a prior conviction, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana.

We’re told officers spotted a gray Nissan Maxima traveling in the 800 block of Snyder St. without a rear license plate.

After officers initiated a traffic stop, officers said they could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

According to the report, when officers asked Fuller to get out of the vehicle, he began running eastbound on Snyder St.

Police said once they caught up with him, he actively resisted arrest.

Authorities said after Fuller was taken into custody, they found a bag of marijuana to be in his possession.

We’re told further investigation revealed that Fuller had a prior conviction for evading.

Fuller was later taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
