ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

Burleson Elementary was under a brief lockdown on Monday morning.

Ector County ISD officials tell us the lockdown took place just after 11 a.m.

We’re told Odessa police responded to a disturbance call near Burleson Elementary and one of the people involved in the call ran to the school.

ECISD administrators said there was some confusion about whether that person was the suspect in the disturbance or the victim, so to be safe the school was placed in lockdown.

We’re told it was the victim in the disturbance and the person never entered the building.

Administrators added that the students and staff were never in any danger.

ECISD police quickly arrived at the school, cleared the lockdown and the school returned to normal schedule before noon.
