ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

The Odessa Police Department is asking for your help locating a wanted fugitive.

Officers were called out to the Walmart on JBS back on Aug. 24 in reference to a robbery. There, they found the 36-year-old victim who told them she had just been shopping when loading her items into her car when an unknown man took her purse from the shopping cart.

The suspect then began to run away before being confronted by a 41-year-old man who attempted to stop the theft. The suspect struck the man with a piece of metal several times then got into a white car and fled the scene.

The 41-year-old sustained injuries on his forehead, but was able to describe the suspect as a tall black man with dreadlocks. He was wearing a black shirt and khaki pants.

We’re told he’s about 30-year-old and 6’2” tall and weighs about 175 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to contact (432) 335-4933.
